R-J contest seeks Santa photos

Kids and Santa. Sometimes, it's a love-fear relationship. Sure, he looks jolly in the picture books, but once you're sitting on his lap he can seem, well, intimidating.

Such scenes are the things of which great Christmas memories are made, often much to the chagrin of the kids when they get older.

The thing is, many families have great photos of kids with Santa, so there's no reason to be embarrassed. In fact, those are just the photos we're looking for. Sweet, funny, dramatic, funny, wacky, funny shots of your kids with the jolly old elf.

Send copies of your favorite photos (they won't be returned) to Santa Photos, Las Vegas Review-Journal Features Department, P.O. Box 70, Las Vegas, NV 89125-0070. Or, send us high-resolution digital images (200 dpi) to jprzybys@review journal.com with "Santa Photos" in the subject line.

No matter how you send them, include your name, age, address and daytime phone number along with the names and ages of the people in the photo, their relationship to you, when the photo was taken and anything else we need to know to fully enjoy the scene.

We'll give a prize for our favorite submission.

The deadline is 5 p.m. Dec. 8. The photos will appear in the Review-Journal Living section Dec. 19 and online on the R-J website.
