Remember back when TV stations didn't run 24 hours? No? OK kids, once upon a time TV stations signed off at the end of their programming day, usually with a prayer or a version of the national anthem or "America the Beautiful." If you're nostalgic for this, or just want to see what it was like in the olden days, check out www.tv-signoffs.com, which collects tons of footage of end-of-the-day programming. The site itself looks a little 1990s' Geocities, but it is frequently updated and fairly easy to navigate.
Sometimes if you're walking down the street and looking down, you'll see discarded porn pamphlets or cigarette butts. But sometimes you can see really sad and depressing things (even more depressing than a porn card). The site sadstuffonthestreet.com collects some of the more interesting and beautiful things found on the street.
A lot of people use Twitter to interact with friends or talk about what they had for lunch or promote a website. But some people use it to promote themselves and their egos are so big it's amazing 140 characters can even contain it. At tweetingtoohard.com, they collect some of the best braggarts on the social media website. Of course, if you follow someone who likes themselves a little too much, you can subject them to public ridicule by submitting their tweet.
