Ah, cassettes, those relics of the past. But one of the best things about cassettes was the ability to record yourself. Over at www.sweetthunder.org/tapes/, they’ve collected a mishmash of things found on those old tapes. There seems to be a lot of examples of kids singing, but the true gold lies in those ’80s answering machine messages.
The concert halls are decked for some not-so-silent nights. Las Vegas’ rich tradition of community holiday music, all of it reasonably priced, continues with shows as diverse as the Las Vegas Philharmonic and the “Razzle Bam Boom Family Christmas Show.”
It looks like the perfect spot for a romantic dinner, the kind of place where dudes get down on one knee and propose to their lady beneath red mood lighting — either that, or the scene for a mob hit in some late night gangster flick.
