The excitement began nearly six months ago, when Blue Bell Ice Cream announced plans to open a distribution center in North Las Vegas, and interest in the Texas-based company hasn’t melted since.

The Charcoal Room, which opened at Palace Station in June, is the second steakhouse by that name in the Station Casinos family, the first being at Santa Fe Station.

The speakeasy era is back — at least at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar at 8721 W. Charleston Blvd. and in Town Square at 5515 Las Vegas Blvd. South. The occasion is a five-course speakeasy-themed dinner with cocktail pairings, beginning at 6:30 p.m. July 18.
