Strip Tips: Registration open for Operation Tower Climb
Ready to climb hundreds of stairs for charity? Teams and would-be participants can register for Operation Tower Climb, a fundraiser at the Stratosphere that sponsors plan to hold annually.
The event is for service members, including military, police officers, firefighters and their families and friends. Service members will compete in their service gear in the race to the top. Participants will climb 108 floors, or 1,455 steps, to the Stratosphere’s observation deck in the tower.
All climbers must be 21 or older. Register at stratosphereclimb.com for $100.
Proceeds will go to two local charities, American Red Cross — Southern Nevada Chapter Fire Hurts division and Operation Fire H.E.A.T., a Holiday Emergency Assistance Team.
The event is scheduled for Oct. 26.
Autograph signing
Former Notre Dame football star Raghib “Rocket” Ismail will make an appearance at TRISTAR Sports Memorabilia inside Miracle Mile Shops.
No word on whether his brothers, Sulaiman “The Bomb” and Qadry “The Missile” Ismail, will be there. Or his mom, “The Launching Pad.” Even if they aren’t, Rocket’s appearance will still be lively.
He will sign autographs and interact with fans from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday and from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday.
A fee will be charged. Prices start at $59. For more information, call 702-534-1650.
