Joey Fatone to rock out in campy musical

Joey Fatone of N’Sync fame can tone down his dance moves and raise his rock fist when he joins The Venetian musical “Rock of Ages” for a limited run from Feb. 20 to April 29.
Fatone will play Dennis Dupree, owner of the Sunset Strip rock club that sets the campy musical’s plot into motion when it’s targeted by greedy developers. Alec Baldwin played the movie version of Dupree.
The ’80s-themed rock musical closed on Broadway last month, leaving Las Vegas the main resident U.S. production.
Fatone knows his way around town after working in a sit-down live version of “Dancing With the Stars” at the Tropicana in 2012.
Dupree has been played by Kyle Gass of Tenacious D in the original Los Angeles production and Jack Blades of Night Ranger in a 2006 pre-Broadway test of the show at the Flamingo.
