Visit any of Nevada’s state parks on June 13 for free
Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 13: All 27 of Nevada’s state parks will be free to enter.
The state is celebrating Free Adventure Day “in celebration of Nevada’s natural beauty, outdoor recreation opportunities, and public lands,” the department said in a news release.
June 13 is also Free Fishing Day in Nevada, allowing visitors to fish without a license wherever fishing is allowed.
Only entrance fees (typically $5 to $10) will be waived, so prepare to pay if camping, boating, making a reservation and other park fees.
In Southern Nevada, those parks include:
• Spring Mountain Ranch.
• Ice Age Fossils.
• Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort.
• Valley of Fire.
• Big Bend of the Colorado (where fees will be automatically refunded).
And for those willing to drive a couple of hours to Caliente or Pioche:
• Spring Valley.
• Echo Canyon.
• Cathedral Gorge.
• Kershaw-Ryan.
• Elgin Schoolhouse.
• Beaver Dam.
The parks department urged visitors to bring plenty of water, check the weather and practice Leave No Trace principles.
