Mountain bike park to open three weeks early at Lee Canyon

A silver lining to the poor winter season in the West: Lee Canyon’s downhill mountain bike park will open three weeks ahead of schedule.

Starting Friday, riders will have early-season access to the lift-served terrain in the Spring Mountains, northwest of the Las Vegas Valley. The snow resort’s winter season ended March 22.

The Bluebird lift will serve riders from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

Lee Canyon’s regular summer operations begin May 22. But starting Friday, mountain bikers can hit the blue (intermediate) and black (expert) trails. The 2.2-mile green (beginner) trail will open in the coming weeks.

Tickets start at $15 and are on sale at leecanyonlv.com.
