A secret, luxury pop-up picnic is happening in Las Vegas next month
A secret, luxurious pop-up picnic for thousands of people is coming to Las Vegas next month.
Le Diner en Blanc — “dinner in white” — is a dining extravaganza in which participants, who dress in all-white attire, don’t know where the actual picnic will be until the day of the event — April 17, according to the Los Angeles Times.
This isn’t your everyday picnic.
“At the last minute, the location is given to thousands of friends and acquaintances who have been patiently waiting to learn the ‘Dîner en Blanc’s’ secret place,” organizers say. “Thousands of people, dressed all in white, and conducting themselves with the greatest decorum, elegance, and etiquette, all meet for a mass ‘chic picnic’ in a public space.”
Guests may not know where exactly the event will be, but they’re already preparing for the big day.
“They’re buying their picnic baskets. They’re selecting their outfits,” event organizer Michael Habicht told the LA Times.
The key to prepping for the event is picking out an all-white outfit. With the exception of accessories, which can be silver, you must be dressed in white from head to toe.
“You can’t wear cream, you can’t wear ivory or off-white. It has to be white,” co-organizer Pamela Ferrari said.
Tickets for the event are sold in pairs for $74. Included in the admission price is a membership to Le Diner en Blanc, a table and two chairs and white balloon bouquets.
Guests have the option of either packing their own picnic food or ordering a gourmet food basket from the event organizers. As Nevada law prohibits guests from packing alcoholic beverages in picnic baskets, drinks must be pre-ordered through the website.
In order to get an invitation to the event, you must register through the Le Diner en Blanc website. From there, you will receive an email informing you when you can log on to purchase tickets.
As the event location is classified, you will preselect a departure location from which you will be transported to and from the secret picnic.
In 2012, Le Diner in Blanc held its exclusive event outside The Venetian on the Las Vegas Strip. The exclusive dinner series has also been hosted around the globe at landmark locations such as the Eiffel Tower and the Sydney Opera House.
