TrollPhace and Getter’s bass overpowers EDC

Can you think of a bigger crowning achievement or a more solid endorsement of your skillset – particularly for esteemed low end ambassadors like TrollPhace and Getter — than bringing it so hard during your set that you literally overpower the actual power powering your stage (say that three times fast).

Such is now the calling card for TrollPhace and Getter, two Skrillex associates, the former of which a producer whose renown was catapulted directly by a co-sign from Skrillex a little more than a year ago. At EDC this past weekend, the two brought bass waves so strong, they actually caused a blackout on the bassPOD stage for a short time.

This pivotal moment in another piece of a paradigm-shift pattern for TrollPhace, otherwise known as Rusty Shackleford, who was purportedly homeless at one time and bottomed several years ago to the point where he says considered taking his own life.

“This time 2 years ago, I had no job, no money, the girl of my dreams dipped and I had a gun in my mouth,” he candidly revealed more than a year ago on Facebook. “And with the kind words, support, and interaction with my fans, people in this community, and artists - I put the gun down and decided to see how far I could take the last thing I had to live for and see how far I could take it.”

Things took a turn for the spectacular when Skrillex gave Troll a shoutout on reddit during an Ask Me Anything session he participated in, and his career took off instantly.

And now to be known along with Getter as one of the guys blowing circuits at Electric Daisy Carnival, which boasts a line up brimming with the absolute crème de la crème of the electronic dance music maestros, well, that’s quite a feat.
