Top 10 things to do in Las Vegas this week

Here are Neon’s top picks for things to do in Las Vegas from Friday, March 6, through Thursday, March 12.

through the weekend

Big League Weekend

The Athletics will play their first games of the year in Las Vegas when they take on the Los Angeles Angels during Big League Weekend. (The A’s will return for six regular season games June 8 to 14). The spring training games are set for 1:05 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Las Vegas Ballpark. Tickets start at $37.75; ticketmaster.com.

311 Day

Few bands cater to their fans more intensely than reggae-informed rap-rockers 311 during their biannual, two-show 311 Day festivities, where they perform for around 3½ hours a night and play upward of 80 songs with no repeats. Better start hydrating now. See 311 at 8:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Dolby Live at Park MGM. Tickets start at $86 each show or $171 for a two-day pass; ticketmaster.com.

The Bar at Lilli

Tyler Vorce, the chef presenting the highly regarded Lilli restaurant residency at Durango Social Club, is offering a new Lilli experience that allows diners to sample his cooking without the seven-course commitment of the main residency. The Bar at Lilli debuts Friday, taking walk-ins only for six seats and a limited à la carte menu offered in step with the main menu. It runs from 5 to 10 p.m. Fridays through Sundays at 3655 S. Durango Drive, Suite 29. Visit lilli.vegas.

friday

Festa Carnevale Veneziano

From 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, La Cucina del Mercato in Eataly at Park MGM is throwing its Festa Carnevale Veneziano inspired by Venetian traditions. The afternoon features free tastings of Italian wine and spirits at more than 20 stations, live entertainment, an option to purchase a $35 tasting of dishes from Eataly chefs and 40 percent off four or more bottles from the Wine Shop. Tickets are free; eataly.com.

Oddyssey Manor

Beginning Friday, Area15 presents Oddyssey Manor, an experience blending specialty pours, nightlife and theatrical performances. The Manor is framed as a birthday cocktail party that unfolds through a rotating cast of characters and unexpected encounters. Each cocktail unlocks a different corner of the Manor, revealing layers of narrative and discovery. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Must be at least 21. Tickets start at $79; oddysseylv.com.

saturday

Bark in the Park

Games, a splash-and-play area and pup cups highlight the return of Bark in the Park. The city of Henderson event also promises a vendor market and photo opportunities for dogs and their human friends. It’s scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cornerstone Park, 1600 Wigwam Parkway, with parking and shuttles available at RC Willey, 20 N. Stephanie St. Admission is free.

Nine Inch Nails

Nine Inch Nails gigs are grueling in a good way: A visual, emotional and sonic deluge for the ages, their shows work the senses the way a boxer does a heavy bag. On their current “Peel It Back Tour,” the alt-industrial pioneers perform on two stages and collaborate with German DJ-producer Boys Noize, who also opens the show. Prepare to be stunned at 8 p.m. Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Tickets start at $81; axs.com.

Après Beach

You wouldn’t necessarily know it based on some of our recent weather, but it’s still technically winter until March 20. LIV Beach at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas is leaning into that with the debut of the winter-themed pool party Après Beach. Guests can take part in ice luge and shotski activations as well as hot cocoa, fondue and make-your-own s’mores as snowfall blankets the venue. LIV Las Vegas resident artist Cloonee will perform. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Admission starts at $38.11 for women and $60.55 for men; livnightclub.com/las-vegas.

Strawberry Fuzz

“I need some dopamine!” Strawberry Fuzz frontman Colby Rodgers howls on the punk- and ska-informed garage rockers’ latest record “Miller’s Garage,” supplying that which he seeks on an album of shout-along debauchery that speeds by like a joyride with the brake lines cut. This bunch brings it live, so wear something you don’t mind getting sweat-soaked when they hit town at 8 p.m. Saturday at The Usual Place, 100 S. Maryland Parkway. Tickets are $23; dice.fm.

sunday

International Women’s Day

On Sunday, shred with the girls at Lee Canyon to celebrate International Women’s Day. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the free event will start on the Sky Deck at Bristlecone Bar with giveaways, shred sessions and more. Catch longtime local snowboarder Jaymie Lee Hajewski leading the event, along with a live DJ and an après party.
