Here are some of the titles that will be available on Record Store Day

For music fans across the country, particularly vinyl aficionados, the third Saturday in April has come to carry special significance over the past decade. That day, otherwise known as Record Store Day, is the biggest shopping day of the year for albums, next to, of course, Black Friday in November.
This Saturday, a ton of releases are being issued and available for purchase at a half dozen participating locations in the Las Vegas area, including 11th Street Records at 1053 Fremont St., both locations of Zia Records at 4225 S. Eastern Ave. and 4503 W. Sahara Ave., and both outposts of Record City at 300 E. Sahara Ave. and 4555 Charleston Blvd. (Wax Trax Records at 2909 S. Decatur Blvd. won’t have any of the special titles available but will be offering a 20 percent discount on purchases that day.)
The selections at each of the stores are likely to be different, as each retailer determines which titles it will be ordering and making available. One of the outlets we spoke with referred us to the full list at RecordStoreDay.com, while another representative advised that his location had ordered as many of the available titles as possible. The list includes everything from picture discs to 7-, 10- and 12-inch pieces of vinyl to colored wax to box sets to double LPs, all exclusive releases, limited-run and regionally focused releases, and “Record Store Day First” releases.
Among those items, collectors will surely be lining up to get their hands on a host of high-profile releases, including a pair of picture discs from David Bowie; an album of Deftones B-sides and rarities; J Dilla’s vocal album, “The Diary”; and much more.
While you can peruse the records that will be issued nationally Saturday, you’ll need to visit the individual stores to see what goodies await, and that’s actually part of the fun. It’s a “you don’t know what Santa is gonna leave under the tree” kind of thing, says 11th Street Records owner Ronald Corso. Below is a partial list of titles (you can find a full, printable PDF version at RecordStoreDay.com).
In addition to these special releases, a couple of the record stores will have other attractions during the day. At Zia Records on Eastern, for instance, Marley Beverage Co will be handing out free beverages from 8-10 a.m. to those in line, street teams from Blue Man Group and Brooklyn Bowl will be handing out free stuff and have enter-to-win ticket giveaways, in addition to an in-store signing featuring the members of Miike Snow, as well appearances by Found in Fiction and the Supersuckers. The Sahara location, meanwhile, will have music by David Rosen, the Social Set, Jessica Care Moore, and Pyrotechnica. (Visit ZiaRecords.com for times and more info).
