Bag some game with Aaron Lewis

Aaron Lewis tends to come across as a dude who just watched his dog get flattened by an 18-wheeler.
The perpetually dour Staind frontman seems to crack a smile every other leap year.
All that pathos is thick in Lewis’ stirring baritone, a thing of beauty born of despair.
On his solo debut, the country-leaning “The Road,” however, Lewis reveals in song what makes him happy.
“My idea of heaven is chasing whitetail bucks,” he sings on “Country Boy,” targeting deer in place of dread.
