First Look: ‘Croods’ shows first road trip

The story: When their cave is destroyed, patriarch Grug Crood (voiced by Cage) leads his prehistoric brood on the first family road trip to a brave, new world in this animated, 3-D comedy adventure.
The buzz: Sanders co-wrote and co-directed “How to Train Your Dragon.” Opening March 26, 2010, it went on to earn more than $490 million worldwide for DreamWorks Animation. The studio is hoping lightning strikes twice by releasing “The Croods” in the same time frame.
