Las Vegas Strip headlining act to rock with 311

Updated March 5, 2026 - 5:47 am

A drum line made by the Blue Man Group is being featured in 311’s show Saturday night at Dolby Live at Park MGM.

The nonverbal Luxor trio is joining the rock-reggae-funk-rap band’s “311 Day” resort takeover on Saturday night. The band also plays on Sunday, without the bald-capped troupe.

Saturday’s show will feature the Blue Men in “select” songs. There are no repeats in the set list over the two nights, as 311 is inviting what it promises is a “unique, musically charged collaboration.”

Fans can also catch the performance live on the Veeps platform at veeps.com.

The Blue Men offered no comment (hah).

Blue Man Group performers are famously percussive. The production has recorded three studio albums: “Audio” (1999), “The Complex (2003) and “Three (2016).” The show also released a “Live at The Venetian” album in 2006, a reminder that the Blue Men headlined what is now Voltaire back then.

The act’s history on the Strip dates to Luxor in 2000, and they have also headlined at the Monte Carlo, today’s Park MGM, where they will perform Saturday.

Also planned for “311 Weekend” are pop-up, 311 museum experience featuring artifacts, artwork, stage gear and poster art from the band’s 35-year history; and a Side Stage Package, as fans experience up to three songs from the side of the stage as part of a limited number of VIP upgrades.

Go to 311.com for intel, and know that the band’s name is inspired by the police code for indecent exposure in Omaha.

ZB on the loose

Zowie Bowie is returning to where it all started (and there is a lot of “it” in this history) 20 years ago, Red Rock Resort. Chris Phillips has posted the plans for a 10 p.m. April 18 show, alongside supreme vocalist Jaime Lynch. Details are forthcoming.

We were there the night ZB opened on April 18, 2006. Phillips showed then he can bring the party, burn up the bar receipts and high-kick his way to a steady gig in this city. I’ve long said the Phillips’ longevity is no accident. It’s simple, people like hanging out with him. We’ll be back to kick it up with one of the city’s most popular showmen, and a true survivor.

AFAN moves north

For the first time, the Aid for AIDS of Nevada (AFAN) will host its annual AIDS Walk Las Vegas at Craig Ranch Regional Park in North Las Vegas. The 36th annual event is April 26, and remains the organization’s largest annual fundraiser supporting HIV prevention and client services in Southern Nevada.

“Every Step We Take” is this year’s theme. The event starts at 9 a.m. with a festival and resource fair, with the walk at 10 a.m. Register at afanlv.org.
