Celine Dion adds a half-dozen shows; venue to seat 30K
Celine Dion has added a half-dozen dates to her extended engagement in Paris before her tickets are open to the public.
Dion has announced new shows on Sept. 18 and 25, along with Oct. 2, 9, 16 and 17. These dates are in addition to the 10 shows earlier announced at Paris La Défense Arena.
The arena has a listed total capacity of 45,000. But Dion’s reps confirm the venue is set for 30,000 for her comeback production.
Dion announced on social media the shows were added “by demand,” which is how it usually works. Presale is ongoing through Thursday at celinedion.com, with general on sales opening Friday.
Reportedly, more than 9 million fans have lined up to register for tickets. A lottery is being employed to allow purchases, with fans given a unique promo code to proceed. Dion’s team has emphasized that only AXS France, Ticketmaster France, and Fnac Spectacles are authorized to sell tickets.
The process is to ward of “bots” that snare and furnish tickets to unauthorized sellers.
The 16 shows are Dion’s first full concerts since she took down her “Courage” tour in March 2020, followed by her lengthy battle with Stiff Person Syndrome.
