The last few weeks have been all about the animals of “Jurassic World.”

This week, they’ll be joined at the multiplexes by a foul-mouthed bear and a heroic dog.

Here’s a look at this week’s new releases, “Ted 2,” “Max” and “Me and Earl and the Dying Girl”:

TED 2: Thunder Buddies John (Mark Wahlberg) and Ted (voiced by Seth MacFarlane) file a civil rights lawsuit in support of Ted’s rights as a person in the comedy sequel. At multiple locations. (115 min.) R; crude and sexual content, pervasive language, and some drug use.

MAX: A grieving boy (Josh Wiggins) bonds with the military dog that accompanied his late brother (Robbie Amell) in Afghanistan. At multiple locations. (111 min.) PG; action violence, peril, brief language and some thematic elements.

ME AND EARL AND THE DYING GIRL: A high school senior (Thomas Mann) is forced by his mother Connie Britton) to hang out with a fellow student (Olivia Cooke) who was recently diagnosed with cancer in this Sundance favorite. At multiple locations. PG-13; sexual content, drug material, language and some thematic elements.
