On discovering dance as a child:

“What I remember — and my mom may have a different story — is seeing, like, an ad for ‘Swan Lake.’ It was a white swan, and I was just, ‘Oh my God, that’s amazing!’ So that’s what I wanted to do when I was younger: I wanted to be a ballet dancer. I just thought she was beautiful, and tall, with long legs, and I thought, ‘How cool is that?’ I wanted to be that.”
