Rock in Rio: Get there early if you want to zip line

If the crowds in front of the Rock in Rio stages look small in those photos on your Instagram feed, that’s because everyone is waiting to ride the zip line.

The sun hadn’t set. Smallpools, the first band up on the main stage, was still playing. And there were already at least a thousand people waiting in line to go sailing, three at a time, in front of the main stage.

Time it right, and it’s the best seat in the house. Otherwise, you’re just flying through the air while staring at a screen broadcasting whoever’s playing the second stage

As cool as the main stage view may be, though, you just know the thought of zip lines at a rock show has Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix and hundreds of other dead rockers spinning in their graves.
