Get ‘Back to the Future’ this weekend
It’s funny how you never know which movies will stand the test of time. Somehow, “Back to the Future” has become one of the immortals, the subject of a massive amount of Internet memes this century.
On Friday, you can get a downtown-Vegas eyeful of “Back to the Future” costars Christopher “Doc” Lloyd and Lea “Marty’s girlfriend and mom” Thompson — along with a DeLorean car representing the film, and scriptwriter Bob Gale. That’s at the Third Street stage.
At 5 p.m. Friday, there’s an opening ceremony for Las Vegas Car Stars 2015, followed by a tribute to “Back to the Future.”
Other cars on the marquee: The Batmobile; the van from the stupid “A-Team”; Herbie “The Love Bug”; the “Ghostbusters” Cadillac; and “Starsky & Hutch” hotrods.
The car show fires up a second day on Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., under the downtown canopy, with 11 a.m. autograph sessions, and a 1 p.m. celebrity Q&A on the Third Street stage.
