Archie’s dead? Thor is a woman? My video odyssey in a comic book store
My motto is: Always ask your friendly neighborhood comic book store guy to give you a video tour of cool stuff in his shop whenever a national comic book superhero dies or changes sex.
And so, on Tuesday, Marvel announced Thor is becoming a female. Boom, just like that. No fuss, no muss.
I jumped in my Elfmobile and Speed Racered to Comic Oasis, because it’s in my hood, and I figured I could buy a cool new “Jetsons” wallet while I was in there, which I did.
So here’s the entertaining Derrick Taylor, owner of Comic Oasis (3121 N. Rainbow Blvd.), telling me about Thor and some other woman superheroes, and then he gives me the possibly bigger news that this is the week Archie dies. I know. Sad. I didn’t even know Archie was sick.
