5 things to do around town

Are you really wearing that?

When the sweaters start looking good, it’s time to stop drinking.

The second annual Ugly Sweater Pub Crawl kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Stitch Factory, 300 Las Vegas Blvd. North, Suite 120.

Starting at 7 p.m., participants will wind their way through a variety of downtown bars, each of which will offer exclusive drink specials.

If you don’t own an ugly sweater, or if you fear yours isn’t ugly enough, you can make one during an ugly sweater workshop at 1 p.m. Thursday at Stitch Factory. Workshop admission is $40.

Pub crawl admission is $20 or a new toy. And a portion of the proceeds will be donated to charity.

Classic is in session

Boulder City troubadour Justin Mather will debut his new album, “Old Records,” with a hometown gig. And if the title sounds funny for a new disc, Mather and his band also copy the classic-rock trend of playing the whole album start to finish, in a release party at 2 p.m. Sunday at Forge Social House, 553 California Ave., Boulder City. Admission is $5.

Honoring warriors

Their sound is evocative of armed conflict, and so, fittingly, thrashers Battlecross are honoring those who have served in a military capacity. On its current “Winter Warriors” tour with Wretched and War of Ages, the band is contributing a portion of the proceeds to veteran’s charities and giving a limited number of vets free tickets via vettix.org. See the band at 8 p.m. Friday at Adrenaline Sports Bar &Grill, 3103 N. Rancho Drive. Tickets are $15; call 702-645-4139.
