Starbucks is testing kale smoothies

Starbucks is hopping on the healthy fast-food train again by debuting kale smoothies at 4,300 stores.

The coffee company also announced new yogurt parfaits as part of their partnership with Danone, maker of Dannon Greek yogurt.

The smoothies are made with their Evolution Fresh juices, which began selling nationwide last year.

Priced at $5.95 for a standard 16-ounce size, the smoothies come in three flavors (Sweet Greens, Strawberry and Mango Carrot) and can be customized with protein powder and kale, Reuters reports.

“They are free from artificial sweeteners or fillers, just a unique, wholesome, snack or beverage,” Jeff Hansberry, president of Evolution Fresh, said in a release.

Last week, Starbucks announced the Thai-Style Peanut Chicken wrap and the Edamame Hummus wrap at participating stores.

The smoothies are so far only available at stores in the Pacific Northwest, Northern California and at select grocery stores nationwide.

So, while they’re not yet in Nevada, you can pick one up on your next road trip.
