Sport peppers make or break Chicago-style hot dogs
Sport peppers are a necessary condiment for completing a Chicago-style hot dog, so it’s lucky that fellow Taste of the Town readers found a ready local supply for Therese Ainsworth.
Libby Casolari, Nicole Cavenagh and Kathy Boland recommended Windy City Beefs ‘n Dogs at 7500 W. Lake Mead Blvd. and Windy City Beefs and Pizza at 9711 S. Eastern Ave., adding that they carry other Chicago-style condiments as well. Boland, David J. McConnell and CeCi Schreiber also suggested Glazier’s Food Marketplace at 8525 W. Warm Springs Road. James Watkins suggested Siena Deli at 9500 W. Sahara Ave., and Brian Strait of Siena Foods Wholesale and Italian Market at 6125 S. Valley View Blvd. said it carries them as well.
For Gene Asken, who’s looking for Great Lakes fresh smoked chubs, Marilyn Roth suggested Weiss Deli and Bakery at 2744 N. Green Valley Parkway in Henderson, and H. Dunaver faxed that they’re sometimes available at Harrie’s Bagelmania at 855 E. Twain Ave.
For Carlos Moore, who’s looking for turkey thighs, Brown suggested Sprouts Farmers Market, which has six stores in the valley. And Marie Villareale emailed that she pre-orders them from Albertsons at 1001 S. Rainbow Blvd. She said they might take four or five days to come in, but they’re two to a package and meaty and tender.
For Sal and Cathy Federico, Irene Poreda emailed that she just purchased Tuttorosso tomatoes on amazon.con, six cans for $21, free shipping.
And for Keith Baker, who’s looking for mango Pickapeppa, Barbara Simonie emailed that it’s available on Amazon, too.
More on pasta con sardie: Siena Foods Wholesale and Italian Market carries that as well.
