Replacement opens for longtime Crown & Anchor pub in Las Vegas

The Irish Spot, an Irish pub, recently opened in the space previously occupied by the Crown & Anchor, a British pub, for almost 30 years on East Tropicana Avenue.

The refreshed interior still feels spot-on for a pub: darts, pool, screens showing international soccer and Golden Knights games and, upstairs, the new Rebel Room, a memorabilia-filled space celebrating the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels and offering a draw for alumni and fans.

The menu hits the spot: shepherd’s fries doused with shepherd’s pie filling and cheese; a shepherd’s pie laden with lamb, vegetables, mashed potatoes and gravy; thick golden planks of fish and chips (with a curry sauce add-on); a plate of bangers and mash featuring thick pork sausages, mashed potatoes pooled with gravy and a heap of green peas; a ham and cheese toastie sandwich on white bread; and more.

The Irish Spot, 1350 E. Tropicana Ave., isn’t hard to spot as you head down the street — it’s painted the green, white and orange of the Irish flag. Visit theirishspot.com and follow @the.irish.spot on Instagram.
