Bring a cake and eat it, too, at this Las Vegas cake exchange

Life’s too short to skip sweets.

The Art of Cake at UnCommons, the mixed-use development in southwest Las Vegas, will prove that the city is full of cake and dessert lovers at an upcoming event. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 11, you can have your cake and eat it, too, as local bakers showcase their best works.

This is a cake share event, so if you have a signature cake, homemade or a local bakery favorite, you must bring it along. Each registered guest will have a cake to display and exchange slices with fellow bakers.

According to UnCommons, more than 250 bakers are already signed up.

Cake exchanges are wildly popular in other places (thanks, TikTok), but have only recently started in Las Vegas. The first major event was in September, hosted by a local influencer and marketing agency.

The event will feature live music. During the exchange, bakers will fill boxes with slices from fellow bakers. UnCommons tenant Salt & Straw, as well as other local outlets, including Whiskful Thinking Cakes, Las Vegas Custom Cakes, Caked Las Vegas and Haus of Vegas Event Co., will be offering something sweet.

The event is free for anyone who RSVPs by Tuesday, March 31. Children under 12 are allowed with an adult and are not required to bring their own cake. Visit uncommons.com/cake for the details.
