NEW YORK TENANTS CAN’T GET FULL TASTE OF THANKSGIVING

Nearly a month after Hurricane Sandy swept through their Rockaways development, hundreds of public housing tenants had no shot Thursday at celebrating Thanksgiving by basting turkeys or cooking up yams. Though the Housing Authority insists things are mostly back to normal at its developments, there was no gas yet at 10 of Ocean Bay Houses’ buildings. “We can’t give out frozen turkeys this year because people don’t have gas,” said Aria Doe, director of the nonprofit Action Center there.
