LANCE ARMSTRONG RESIGNS FROM CANCER-FIGHTING CHARITY LIVESTRONG

Disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong, hoping to spare his cancer-fighting charity from further damage from the doping scandal that has cost him his seven Tour de France titles, resigned from the Livestrong’s board of directors last week. Armstrong had previously stepped down as the charity’s chairman on Oct. 17, a week after the United States Anti-Doping Agency released an explosive report that said the Texan had operated the most sophisticated drug program in sports history.
