INDYCAR STAR DAN WHELDON DIES AFTER FIERY CRASH AT LAS VEGAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY

Two-time and reigning Indianapolis 500 winner Dan Wheldon died Sunday after a fiery crash involving 15 cars early in the IZOD IndyCar World Championships at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
IndyCar series chairman Randy Bernard made the announcement at 3 p.m., approximately two hours after the crash on Lap 12. Bernard said Wheldon died from "unsurvivable injuries."
