DJ AM found dead in NYC, was to perform tonight at Rain

DJ AM, the celebrity disc jockey who was a regular in Las Vegas, was found dead tonight at his apartment in New York City, which had drug paraphernalia in it, a law enforcement official said.

Adam Goldstein, 36, was scheduled to perform tonight at Rain nightclub at the Palms, where he had an ongoing Friday residency. Goldstein launched his Palms residency with a kick-off party April 24 at the hotel pool. He was lured away from Pure nightclub at Caesars Palace, where he had been a popular attraction.

The death comes a year after Goldstein survived a plane crash that killed four other people in South Carolina. Goldstein was a deejay for hire who performed at Hollywood’s most exclusive parties.
