ACTOR SHERMAN HEMSLEY DEAD AT 74

Actor Sherman Hemsley, who died Tuesday at the age of 74, is shown during a visit to Madison Elementary School in Las Vegas on Feb. 21, 1986. He was best known for his role as George Jefferson in "All in the Family" (CBS) and "The Jeffersons" (NBC) and as Deacon Ernest Frye on "Amen" (NBC).
