First Friday features food, art, yoga, ‘Hair’
Food trucks and music, yoga and art. It must be First Friday.
This month’s event, centered in the Arts District from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday, celebrates the art of acceptance.
Some of the city’s top rock and theater talent will perform a rock concert version of the musical “Hair” from 6 to 9 p.m. on the Third Street Stage.
Other highlights include the Kids Zone with activities and a petting zoo, food trucks on Third Street between Colorado and Imperial avenues, and free yoga (6:30 p.m.) and Pilates (8 p.m.) classes.
In addition to the “Hair” performance, festivalgoers can take in music from musicians and DJs.
But, as always, the main emphasis will be on art – ranging from street to interactive, paintings to sculptures, photography to crafts – that can be found throughout the downtown festival.
