Hieroglyphics busting blue collar rhymes
August 17, 2012 - 1:03 am
They're nearly as old school as the concept of the hip-hop crew itself.
Founded by Del the Funkee Homosapien in the early '90s, Oakland's Hieroglyphics are a wizened, working class troupe who favor a vintage soul and jazz backdrop for their largely blue-collar rhymes.
The multimember group is a welcome anachronism, a forward-looking collective with a sound rooted in the past.
