Green beer, cheap Guinness: Guide to St. Patrick’s Day events in Vegas
You know Las Vegas is itching for a party when Hofbräuhaus and Benihana are touting their St. Patrick’s Day specials and Cabo Wabo Cantina is busting out its corned beef quesadillas.
Here’s a look at some of the events as well as food and drink specials available for the holiday:
Holiday events
New York-New York’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival, featuring a bagpipe performance, other live music and food from Nine Fine Irishmen, will take over the Brooklyn Bridge at 5 p.m. daily through Tuesday.
The St. Paddy’s Day Bash at the Fremont Street Experience will feature three days of music, Sunday through Tuesday, on all three stages as well as the Professional Firefighters of Nevada’s annual parade (11 a.m. Tuesday) and the inaugural jig and costume contest (8 p.m. Tuesday).
Nacho Daddy will have a block party Saturday through Tuesday in front of its location at 121 N. 4th Street. Specials will include Irish nachos ($10), Jameson Mai Tais ($12) and Guinness drafts ($7).
Carousel Bar at the Plaza will host its annual St. Patrick’s Day party starting at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Specials will include Guinness Draught ($8), St. Paddy Irish whiskey shot ($4) and an Irish Mule ($10), a green cocktail made with ginger beer, Jameson Irish Whiskey and lime.
Bagpipers will roam the Linq Promenade from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday, and The Strat tower will be illuminated green at dusk.
Food and drink specials
Prepare your stomach for some culture clashes.
A Japanese restaurant will celebrate the Irish holiday with a Mexican cocktail, through March 22, when Benihana at Fashion Show mall serves up a vibrant green margarita ($7).
Cabo Wabo Cantina at Planet Hollywood will blend cultures Tuesday with its Reuben quesadilla ($24.95) and Reuben torta ($24.95), both of which will include corned beef, house-made sauerkraut, melted Swiss cheese and Russian dressing. Guests can also get a green version of any Mexican beer for $10.
Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas on Tuesday will serve up Irish-German dishes, including Gepökelte Ochsenbrust mit Weißkraut ($34), tender corned beef brisket served with steamed cabbage, carrots and mashed potatoes, and Brotpudding ($14), a bread-and-butter pudding served with vanilla ice cream, whiskey sauce and whipped cream. Guests can wash it all down with The Screwy Leprechaun ($16), a blend of Malibu Rum, blue curaçao and orange juice.
F1 Hub Lounge at Grand Prix Plaza will be serving up Shamrock Empanadas ($18) — corned beef, steamed cabbage and horseradish cream in green pastry — Tuesday along with other themed food and drink specials starting Friday.
Have your fill — and possibly more — of Irish food when the A.Y.C.E. Buffet at the Palms loads up on corned beef and cabbage, Guinness Irish beef stew, Jameson sliders, fish and chips and shepherd’s pie. It’s available from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday for $46.99.
At the South Point, the Garden Buffet will make Irish classics for breakfast (starting at $16.95), lunch (starting at $23.95) and dinner (starting at $33.95) on Tuesday. Selections include corned beef and cabbage, Emerald Isle Irish lamb stew and Guinness braised beef steak. Also on Tuesday, the Coronado Café will have specials including Guinness marinated sirloin steak ($14.95) served with two eggs, boxty potato cakes and Irish soda bread.
Close Company at The Venetian’s Via Via Food Hall has been transformed into a festive green-and-gold refuge. Through March 22, guests can partake in $10 specialty cocktails, including the Irish Eyes Manhattan and the St. Paddy’s Boilermaker.
PT’s Taverns will have an array of specials available through Tuesday, including Reuben egg rolls ($11), Jameson snack-size wings ($14) and Guinness pints ($5). Sean Patrick’s locations also will have bangers and mash ($17), corned beef and cabbage ($19) and free St. Patrick’s Day T-shirts while supplies last.
As part of its “Paddy on the Patio” celebration, High Steaks Vegas at the Rio will have free Guinness nitro pours in engraved pint glasses, a Two Stacks Irish Whiskey tasting and live Irish music 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Project BBQ at Circa will offer a thinly sliced smoked corned beef brisket sandwich ($20) and an Irish stew ($15) with slow-cooked brisket, rustic potatoes, carrots, onions, parsnips and fresh herbs. It’s part of a day-long Tuesday celebration that will include food specials, green cocktails and green beer throughout Circa, the D and Golden Gate.
The self-guided St. Patrick’s Day bar crawl ($74.99) at Area15 starts at 2 p.m. Tuesday and includes one drink at each of the five stops — Liftoff Bar and Ride, Oddwood, The Beast, Looper Bar and Asylum Bar + Arcade — as well as $5 in arcade tokens.
Flanker Kitchen + Sports Bar at Mandalay Bay will celebrate Tuesday with Irish Nachos ($28) with potato dippers, cheddar, bacon, corned beef and scallions; Guinness Braised Short Rib ($55) with Irish potato, baby carrots and parsnips; and a Guinness Stout Brownie Skillet ($12) with mint chocolate chip ice cream.
O’Sheas at The Linq will be offering Guinness and green beer for $5, Friday through Tuesday, with live entertainment on Tuesday.
Topgolf Las Vegas will have $2 green draft beers Tuesday, with a choice of Bud Light, Coors Light or Miller Lite.
The Irish Exit ($16) boozy shake at Holsteins, 1216 S. Main St., is made with vanilla ice cream infused with Baileys Irish Cream with a Jameson-infused caramel swirl and topped with green sprinkles, gold coins, whipped cream, green M&Ms and a shamrock-shaped cookie. It’s available Sunday through Tuesday.
Siegel’s 1941 at El Cortez will have housemade corned beef and cabbage (starting at $18) and $6 Guiness 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Saturday through Tuesday.
