Go time: The venerable Railhead still hops at Boulder Station

Venues on Boulder Highway might seem more than a stone’s throw from anywhere, but The Railhead at Boulder Station is worth the trek.

The live entertainment haunt has been staging high-quality shows for more than 30 years. This is where we met the guys in Yellow Brick Road, and caught headliners such as Robert Cray and John Waite. Today, comic Billy Gardell is among the national names playing this venue (two shows April 17).

But local acts are the steam engine of the railroad-monikered club. Railhead is still a hot spot for Yellow Brick Road (back Friday night), ’90s Station (March 6) and ’80s Station (April 13). The Railhead also continues its “Bailongo A La Mexicana” series, with rotating artists each week, on March 7.

Shows start at 8 p.m. No cover, guests must be 21 or older. Bottle service and table reservations are available. Go to boulderstation.com for more intel.
