Restaurants honor veterans with specials

Local restaurants and outlets of national chains are offering discounts, free drinks and in some cases free meals to veterans in celebration and appreciation of Veterans Day. Unless otherwise noted, the offers are good on Tuesday, Nov. 11. And in all cases, proof of service or current military status is required.

Veterans and active-duty members of the military can choose a free meal from the Thank You Meal menu at all Applebee’s locations, of which there are 11 in the valley. The menu includes such items as a 7-ounce house sirloin, American Standard All-In Burger, Double Crunch Shrimp and Oriental Chicken Salad. …

BLT Burger at The Mirage, 3400 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is offering veterans and active-duty military members a 50 percent discount on the total check for parties or two or fewer, or 25 percent discount for parties of three or more. …

Cabo Wabo at the Miracle Mile Shops, 3663 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is offering veterans and active-duty members of the military a buy-one-get-one-free deal on any drink on the menu. Throughout the year, Cabo Wabo also offers veterans and military members 20 percent off their total dining checks. …

Leave the gun and take the cannoli at Carlo’s Bakery at the Grand Canal Shoppes, 3377 Las Vegas Blvd. South, which will give a free cannoli to any veteran or active-duty member of the military.

All Claim Jumper locations — there are four in the valley — are offering a free lunch or dinner from a special menu on Monday, Nov. 10, to all who have been honorably discharged from the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines or Coast Guard, with verification of service. The menu includes such signature dishes as baked pot pies, roasted tri-tip and chicken-fried steak. …

Five Guys Burgers and Fries will give free Five Guys or Cajun-Style Fries to any veteran or active-duty member of the military who dines at any of its eight locations in the valley.

Golden Corral, 1455 Lamb Blvd., will give a free dinner buffet and beverage to any active-duty or retired U.S. military personnel from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17.

Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurants, which has valley locations at 3987 Paradise Road and 750 S. Rampart Blvd., is offering a craft beer to any active or retired member of the military.

Honey Salt, 1031 S. Rampart Blvd., is offering a 15-percent discount on the check of any veteran or active-duty member of the military through the end of the month.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts will give a free doughnut in any variety and a free small cup of coffee to any veteran or active-duty member of the military, no ID required, on Tuesday. The chain also offers a 10-percent military discount throughout the year.

Marie Callender’s will serve a free Magnificent Six breakfast to all veterans and active-duty personnel from 7 to 11 a.m. Tuesday. The company has four valley locations.

On the Border, which has a restaurant at 5630 Centennial Center Blvd., will serve a Choose 2 or Choose 3 selection from their Create Your Own Combo menu to any veteran or active-duty member of the military. …

Rockhouse at the Grand Canal Shoppes, 3377 Las Vegas Blvd. South, will give a 15-percent discount to veterans and active-duty members of the military.

Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza & Grill and Sammy’s Restaurant & Bar locations will give one free tapa at lunch or dinner to any veteran or active-duty member of the military, with an equal or greater purchase. Tapas include mini duck tacos and Kung Pao calamari. All five locations also have a year-round offer of a 20 percent discount for all veterans. …

Station Casinos is offering a free breakfast, lunch or dinner (one meal per veteran) at all Feast and Festival Buffet locations to veterans and active-duty members of the military. Military-edition Boarding Pass or military ID required. Feast Buffets are at Boulder Station, Green Valley Ranch Resort, Palace Station, Red Rock Resort, Santa Fe Station, Sunset Station and Texas Station, Festival Buffets at Fiesta Henderson and Fiesta Rancho.

Trevi Italian Restaurant at The Forum Shops at Caesars, 3500 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is offering a 20 percent discount on all food orders to veterans and active-duty members of the military.

Twin Peaks, which has locations at 3717 Las Vegas Blvd. South and 9510 S. Eastern Ave., will give a 2015 Twin Peaks calendar, with more than $160 worth of coupons, to the first 100 veterans or active-duty members of the military who come in to each location.
