Best moments from the iHeart Music Festival

"This is where 'I can't believe it!' actually happens."

That's how Ryan Seacrest described the iHeartRadio Music Festival on Friday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena just before introducing Coldplay.

While that declaration may have seemed pretty brazen, after being treated to more than 10 hours of music from more than two dozen of the most popular mainstream acts over the course of two nights, it probably seemed less so for fans by the time it was all said and done and Diplo closed out the pop music extravaganza with blazing set of dance music as a sea of giant red balloons bobbed in the crowd just after midnight. It was a steady stream of sensational moments.

If you didn't get a chance to go or you missed the livestream, here are the 10 best moments from the iHeartRadio Music Festival, which is set to be rebroadcast on The CW next week on Sept. 29 and Sept. 30.

THE KILLERS KILLING IT IN THEIR HOMETOWN

After an emphatic introduction from Courtney Love in which she mused how "Las Vegas might seem like it's gone crazy for dance music, but this city has always been a rock town," nodding to the Killers and pointing out how the hometown act came together though an ad in a local paper, the Killers paid homage to their hometown with a highly charged set that kicked off lively rendition of "Viva Las Vegas," as Brandon Flowers and company performed in front of images of slots spinning and an oversized neon "k," with the frontman adding, "Well, hello. We are the Killers, brought to you by way of fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada."

JLO GIVES THE LOW DOWN

Jennifer Lopez absolutely electrified the arena with an energetic set in which she danced in a way that would fatigue folks even half her age and offered a sneak peek of the artwork for her upcoming residency at Planet Hollywood, which, as she revealed onstage for the first time on Saturday night, will be called All I Have. The town's newest resident promised to do her best to live up to the name.

KANYE FOR PRESIDENT!

Like his fevered set at FYF last month, Kanye West strolled on stage shrouded in near darkest, backlit by his own lighting rig and enveloped by a dense cloud of fog. While not quite as captivating as that searing set, he managed to make the best of the time that he had on stage on Friday night. While most sets comprised five or six songs in thirty or so minutes, Kanye crammed 18 songs into his set, closing things out with "Only One," sneaking a subtle nod to his plans to run for President in 2020.

THE CAMEOS

There were nearly a dozen cameos from a captivating cast of characters, a quarter of which were beamed in directly from the Clinton era. Sam Smith started things off with Disclosure, then about halfway into her set on Friday night, Demi Lovato, a product of the 1990s, kept the celebrity cavalcade going by inviting up Third Eye Blind frontman Stephan Jenkins, followed by Alvaro Soler, who traded verses with JLo, Tyga, who mixed in with Prince Royce, Mase, Busta Rhymes, MGK, Lil Kim and Tori Kelly, who all sat in with Puff Daddy, and Fetty Wap who joined Fall Out Boy.

THE COVERS

The most unexpected cover came from Demi Lovato and Stephan Jenkins of Third Eye Blind who did a duet of "Jumper," while the most interesting came from Fall Out Boy and Fetty Wap, who revived their MTV Movie Award performance of "Trap Queen," and the interlude of "Poison" by Bell Biv Devoe that Nick Jonas teased during "Teacher."

SURPRISE, IT'S SHAGGY AND BIG SEAN!

Neither Big Sean nor Shaggy were listed as performers for the festival – nor were they even touted with much fanfare before taking the stage – but both took the scene by storm, making their way through the crowd on the arena floor to the stage for two criminally short blink-and-you-missed-it performances, the Detroit rapper doing "I Don't F--- with You," and Mr. Lover Lover doing "It Wasn't Me."

NICK JONAS, GUITAR HERO?

While he's remade himself into a suave soul man these days, Nick Jonas stole a few moments away from crooning on "Jealous" to channel his inner guitar hero, showing that the axe he wielded at the beginning of the song when he fired off a few riffs was no mere prop, as he played a pretty sweet solo toward the end. His fleet-fingered fretwork was actually rather impressive.

PRINCE CHARMING

While all of the artists were engaging for the most part, Prince Royce captured the hearts of the crowd when he summoned a female fan to the stage and then proceeded to serenade her as she sat on a stool and swooned as he sang the words to his fittingly titled song "The Lucky One."

A SEXY STANDOFF

From Jason Derulo and Prince Royce to Trey Songz and Nick Jonas, these singers had the crowd enraptured with sets of sultry seranades, some of which were delivered shirtless and in the case of Trigga managed to be sexy even though his hand and forearm were in a cast. If the iHeartRadio folks really want to make things interested, next year they'll enlist the dudes to perform onstage together all at once in a battle royale. The prospect of that is almost as entertaining as envisioning the editing crew at the CW attempting to excise all the profane references to the female anatomy from the Weeknd and Lil Wayne.

WHO'S YOUR DADDY?

We all know that Puff Daddy is a baller and is worth more than most of us will make in a lifetime, but on Saturday night, he reminded everyone of this fact by inviting everybody in the house to party with him after the show at a club on the Strip, making sure to note that the drinks were on him.
