Your guide to Halloween movies in Las Vegas

There are plenty of movies still in theaters to get you in the mood for Halloween.

"Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse" opens Friday, to go along with "Crimson Peak," "Goodnight Mommy," "Goosebumps," "Hotel Transylvania 2," "The Last Witch Hunter," "Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension" and "The Visit."

And if you want to check out something really scary, you should see the way the title character is presented in "Steve Jobs."

But if you're in the mood for something a little older, there are several options for that, too.

The 1931 Bela Lugosi classic "Dracula" is playing as part of a double feature with the Spanish-language version that was filmed at night on the same sets with a different cast. See them at 2 and 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Colonnade, The Orleans, Sam's Town, Santa Fe, South Point and Village Square.

"Halloween," complete with an introduction from writer-director John Carpenter, is playing at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Colonnade and Village Square.

Do the "Time Warp" again with "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" at 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday at AMC Town Square, 11:55 p.m. Friday at Tropicana Cinemas and midnight Friday at the drive-in.

"Gremlins" (3 p.m. Saturday) and "Beetlejuice" (3 p.m. Sunday) are screening at the Palms for just $1.

And if free is more your speed, head down to The District at Green Valley Ranch for "Monsters University." The screening, the closing night of the annual Outdoor Picture Show, begins at dusk Saturday.
